Why you SHOULDN'T let your child play in a ball pit

'99% of them are hives for germs because feces get lost at the bottom', company claims

  • A British stem-cell bank claims that ball pits are covered in feces and filth
  • The company had no scientific study, only relying on interviews with managers
  • Previous research confirms that ball pits do have a host of bacteria in them

Ball pits are breeding grounds for germs because they are covered in poo, vomit and sticky substances, a company claims.

A British firm stated that 99.9 percent of these popular play areas are full of germs because feces are often lurking at the bottom.

To make this claim, they conducted interviews with dozens of workers who confessed that ball pits are rarely cleaned and are often covered in spilled juice, vomit and a slew of other germs.

Although the company had no scientific study on the subject, previous research confirms these play areas have potentially harmful bacteria in every corner. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4608650/Why-shouldn-t-let-child-play-ball-pits.html

Why a vegetarian diet guarantees slimming success

Cutting out meat nearly DOUBLES weight loss by changing how we store fat

  • Following a plant-based diet also improves our satiety and energy levels
  • Vegetarian dieters find their eating plan and exercise routine easier to stick to
  • Researchers believe a vegetarian diet can help people stay lean as they age
  • Such a diet may particularly benefit diabetes patients if it reverses their disease

Dieters who follow a vegetarian eating plan lose nearly twice as much weight as calorie-restricting meat eaters, new research reveals.

Cutting 500 calories a day and adopting a plant-based diet results in an average weight loss of 13.67lbs (6.2kg) after six months, compared to 7.05lbs (3.2kg) in meat eaters, a study found.

Researchers believe this may be due to vegetarian diets changing our fat storage and insulin sensitivity, as well as making us feel more energized, which encourages people to stick to their eating plan. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4599346/On-diet-vegetarian.html

Could GRAPES do wonders for your teeth?

Seeds from juicy fruit are hailed as a new weapon in the fight against tooth decay

  • Grape seed extract could prevent people losing teeth and strengthen fillings
  • The current drawback of tooth-coloured fillings is they only last 5 to 7 years
  • But that could change with the new discovery by a team of Chicago dentists
  • The extract toughens a tooth's dentin below the enamel, the researchers found
  • A third of adults have tooth decay and the average number of fillings is seven

A natural compound found in grapes has been found to strengthen teeth and prevent tooth decay, a study says.

Scientists claim that the discovery could stop people from losing teeth and also boost the strength of fillings, allowing them to last longer.

Grape seed extract – a byproduct of the wine making industry which can be purchased from health food shops – has long been linked to health benefits such as improved heart function and better circulation. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4589458/Seeds-grapes-fight-against-tooth-decay.html

Statins slash breast cancer death rates

Major study shows 3p pills can cut women's risk of dying by a remarkable 40%
  • Researchers believe the 3p-a-day pills dramatically boost survival rates
  • They say in future statins  will routinely be used to treat the illness
  • Findings will be unveiled at the world’s largest cancer conference this weekend

Statins can cut the risk of dying from breast cancer by 40 per cent, a major study has found.

Researchers believe the 3p-a-day pills dramatically boost survival rates by halting the growth of tumours.

They say that in future, statins – which are taken to lower cholesterol – will routinely be used to treat breast cancer alongside surgery, chemotherapy and other drugs.

The findings will be unveiled at the world’s largest cancer conference this weekend.Almost 200,000 women with breast cancer were involved in the study, which did not analyse whether statins can also help prevent the disease. Designer Vagina laser treatment brings relief for intimate problems

Former NHS nurse invents her own 'designer vagina' treatment using LASERS after suffering intimate problems caused by giving birth (and now she's on track to make MILLIONS)
  • Nurse Emma Soos, 40, Nottinghamshire suffered issues after giving birth
  • Couldn't get treatment she needed so decided to develop her own using lasers
  • Used treatment on herself and honed it with help of gynaecologist
  • Set up Genesis Clinics to offer Nu V treatment and other services for women
  • Said condemning women to a life without intimacy was 'not to be tolerated'

A former NHS urology nurse left with intimate problems after the birth of her children was inspired to develop her own laser treatment for women - and it's already making her £50,000 a month.

Mother-of-two Emma Soos, 40, from Nottinghamshire, was left with scar tissue after giving birth to her first child, now 11, and went on to spend five years attending hundreds of appointments - each time submitting to an internal examination which left her feeling undignified and misunderstood.

The after-effects of birth left her suffering 'problems in the bedroom and in the bathroom', Emma said, prompting her to use her urology background to develop her own laser treatment - and to act as her own guinea pig.

It worked so well Emma set up her own clinics and has already treated hundreds of women - and says some have shed tears of gratitude as they thanked her for restoring their confidence, and their sex lives. How to never lose your temper with your children again

Mother says her scientifically-backed hairband trick to ensure she NEVER loses her temper with her children has transformed their behaviour (and 500,000 parents use it)

  • Kelly Holmes, 39, from Austin, Texas, is a mother to three children under ten
  • Struggled to keep temper in check so researched science behind healthy habits
  • Created the five hairband trick, which involves placing five hairbands on wrist
  • You must remove one every time you lose your temper but can earn them back
  • Little things such as joking with children and hugging them earn them back
  • Trick is based on research from The Gottman Institute called the Magic 5:1 Ratio
  • For every one negative interaction you need five positive interactions to balance

A mother-of-three who resolved to never lose her temper with her children again has created a clever hairband trick she maintains has totally transformed her relationship with her offspring.

Kelly Holmes, 39, from Austin, Texas, is a mother to a nine-year-old, four-year-old and one-year-old and admits that she struggled to keep her temper in check so began researching the science behind how to form healthy habits.

She used various studies to invent the hairband trick, which involves placing five hair ties around your wrist. If you catch yourself snapping at your child, you have to move one hair tie to the other wrist - but your goal is to make it to the end of the day with all five hair ties on the original wrist.
